We are brethren on a journey. Some of us are further along than others. The point of this book is to speed your progress through the stages of maturity by showing you the road ahead.

Too many Christians feel they have arrived and stop maturing – to their peril! We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, knowing it is God who is at work in us to make us will and do His good pleasure. He wants to adjust our motivations and actions to conform more to His image. We must commit ourselves to practice each step and petition God for Him to transform our hearts & deeds to enable us to do so.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:48 that we must be “perfect” (teleioi) as our heavenly Father is. The Amplified version has it, “You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

May the reader of this book be blessed with a hunger for more and wisdom as to how to bring this to pass, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

A good prayer to speed us on our way would be: “Heavenly Father, I ask you to bring growth in my spiritual life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
