God inspired the Bible
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
God's word is flawless
Psalms 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless.
God's word stands forever
1 Peter 1:25 but the word of the Lord stands forever.
God's word is the truth
John 17:17 Jesus said: "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."
God wants us to read and study his word.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
We are to follow God's word in our lives.
James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

What happens when we study and obey God's word?

God's love is made complete in our hearts
1 John 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him.
it guides us in our journey
Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
helps us resist temptation
Matthew 4:3-4 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
helps keep us from sinning
Psalms 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
keeps us pure in heart
Psalms 119:9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.
teaches, rebukes, corrects, and trains us.
